RAI Prenatal to Five is funded by the American Indian Programs Branch of Head Start to provide developmental and educational services to 115 low income, transient Native American children. It provides health care tracking, developmental screenings, and early intervention for children with disabilities. Extensive cooperation is maintained with the Department of Social Services, Rapid City Public Schools, and Sioux San Indian Health Service Hospital. We target those families who have recently moved from a reservation and are on TANF.

The RAI prenatal to Five is funded to provide developmental and educational services to 113 children, aged 0-5, and their families. RAI prenatal to Five provides cultural education, health care tracking, special needs screenings, and referral for early intervention. The Crow Creek Sioux Tribe has designated RAI as its official grantee.

The Ateyapi Project matches sober adult role models with at risk Native youth. The mentors use Red Road Approach to sobriety to teach Native American youth to be proud to be Lakota, drug free and to stay in school. The ATEYAPI Project is currently funded by the Administration for Native Americans to help build healthy marriages and by the Family and Youth Services Bureau of the Administration for Children and Families to provide Community-Based Abstinence Education.

In cooperation with the Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, this project seeks to reduce substance abuse in the Rapid City Schools. The DFC Project sponsors alcohol and drug free activities, workshops and forums. The primary activities are The Red Ribbon Campaign, the Youth to Youth Conference, and the S.A.V.E. Youth Conference. With collaboration from Rapid City Schools, Lifeways, S.D. National Guard, Western Prevention Resource Center, City/County Drug and Alcohol Programs, we reach 9,000 students a year.
